Living life between different countries or cultures
Living life between different countries or cultures
It comes with its own unique challenges.
You might be living abroad or moving between different languages and worlds. What feels natural to others can feel more complex to you. You may be living between two cultures that don’t fully come together, leaving you feeling misplaced or unsettled.
You may carry questions that others don’t fully understand. The people in your daily life may not know your background, while those from your country of origin may not fully grasp your current reality. You receive advice from both sides, yet it doesn’t quite fit.
Being in a relationship across languages or cultures can add another layer. Differences in communication and expectations can create distance. In these cases, therapy in English can offer a shared middle ground: a space to express emotions and work towards mutual understanding.
You can also choose individual counselling in English, for example when you live in the Netherlands but feel more comfortable expressing yourself in English.
We create space for your whole story: your background, your environment, and the different worlds you move between. This allows you to find clarity, direction, and a sense of groundedness, regardless of where you are.
You’re welcome to share what’s on your mind.
